In 1989, a small group of friends began the Newtown Quilters’ Guild, which was incorporated as a nonprofit organization to provide fellowship, support and encouragement for its members, and to establish and promote educational and philanthropic endeavors for the community.

Every other year, the Guild sponsors a quilt show. This year, the theme is “A Thread Runs Through It,” which will be presented Oct. 12-13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lower Makefield Masonic Lodge, located at the corner of Heacock & Edgewood Roads, Yardley.

Admission is $8 ($1 discount with donation of non-perishable food item).
